A special report
From drhuggiebear.com: a personal letter.
There will not be a monthly Health Tips for Success Volume 2 Issue 11 due
to the untimely death of Dr. Frank’s son-in-law.
Dear Subscriber,
Please accept my apologies for not providing medical content in our newsletter
this month.
The staff and I felt this space would best be issued in memory of my deceased
son-in-law, Brian.
Brian Lucas was brutally murdered at the age of 28 years, while working at a
friend’s Suzuki dealership near Spartanburg, South Carolina. This talented,
high-spirited, energetic young man and three co-workers were shot to death by
unknown persons, on November 6, 2003. The assailant is still at large.
Our family has spent the past month dealing with grief, sorrow and the intense
pain of his loss. Dealing with the boys has been the most difficult thing we
have ever done. He and my daughter had two sons, one and a half and three and a
half years of age. The boys do not fully understand why their daddy has yet to
come home from work and look for him every night. The nightmares are terrible
and the nights have been very long.
Brian’s memory will persist for a very long time, as he and I had developed a
special father-son-in-law relationship. It’s great when two strangers can
develop a trusting relationship based on mutual respect and understanding. We
know Brian’s spirit will exist forever with his God, as he was baptized a
Christian just one year ago and had developed a firm belief and foundation in
his religion.
Regardless of your faith, we’d ask you to remember Brian and our family in your
prayers. And…. Please be sure to hug and cherish the ones you love this
Christmas season.
